Hello again. I just received a pair of 8x1.5 Rez wheels (600 and 1200) from Hans, and thought I'd share my initial impressions.
First off, the price and shipping charge was quite reasonable, and delivery time to Guam was as good as I could reasonably expect, considering distance and Holliday postal slow downs. The working face of the wheels looks even, with a fairly thick layer of resin above the belt. I did not find any thin spots or noticeable defects. The body of the wheel looks to be cast from glass reinforced nylon, and is free of flashing and tool marks. Overall dimensions are a bit different than what I expected, Diameter and face width are larger than advertised at 8.13x1.63", so it is likely a 205x40mm. The hub is where I was most surprised, it is 0.35" narrower than the face, which required making another pair of shaft spacers to make up the difference. Machining inside the bore is a bit rougher than I'd like, and just a little tight on the arbor. Maybe a thousandth of interference making it a snug fit. I have yet to actually bring them up to speed, so I can't speak about balance or cutting performance quite yet. If anyone else has experience with them. I'd like to hear the story.
Thanks

Just a quick update, I spun up the grinder and tested the wheels. No issues with balance or running true. They seem to cut well, and I'll update about durability as they get some more use.

Update 2.0 Now that I have had a bit of time working with the wheels, I really like them. They cut quite aggressively, considering the grit, and leave a consistent finish on the stones. so far, I have cut obsidian, lake superior agates, Wyoming jade, tiger iron, noreena jasper, boulder opal, banded arragonite and some of the green jasper I found here on Guam. They do very well on the harder siliceous stones, but are a bit too aggressive for the boulder opal and arragonite. My only complaint is that they are really loud, but seem to be quieting down a bit as they break in.

It seems that the rough texture of the wheels is not the best thing for the stick agate that I cut this morning. A couple of the sticks lifted out from the vibration. I switched over to belts on an expanding drum and didn't have any more issues.

royI've bought a few wheels from Hans. I had a contaminated 3,000 grit soft wheel. He sent a replacement right away. I had a hard 280 grit wheel with a small bare spot (no grit). He replaced it right away. Sorry you didn't have a good response. Lynn

As a closing statement regarding these wheels, I would like to say that I definitely like them and believe that they are worth the purchase price. I have found them to be a tool that works well for most materials, and based on observed wear, I suspect they will be quite durable. However, the rough surface texture tends to cause some spalling and chipping on some of the more delicate materials that I like to cut, and they are easily the loudest tool that I use inside my house. The noise may be something specific to my particular machine, and where they are mounted on the arbor, but between all of the rock concerts and airplanes, I'm already deaf enough.
Long story short, I would buy them again, but with the understanding that they are just one arrow in my quiver of stone cutting tools.
