I slowed down a bit this year but did manage to keep some barrels going most of the time. Just handful in this batch but some nice agates in the mix. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Dang half moons. Just one rock got them out of the whole batch. No rhyme nor reason. 9. 10. This is a repaired tumble. It was finished a couple weeks ago but when it was done a couple flaws popped up. Ground them off and tried again. This is common practice. Here is the same rock from before showing the imperfections. Thanks for looking Chuck

I suspect that in the dictionary under tumble polished agates, there will be a picture of some of your work!! A fitting end to a great year.

I understand the slow down. My tumbling has been shut off for a few weeks.
That said, the stuff looks great. Typical.

Beautiful tumbles! What's the green stone in picture #6? It's gorgeous! The green striped one in #5 is glass. Actually might be a piece of of that famous jamesp stuff. All these rare agates and you picked the glass as a favorite. No surprise. The glass looks cool. Chuck

Good looking batch Chuck. I am sssooooo ready to get mine rolling again. They have been shut down since moving back home to just north of Tampa and building my new shop. Work, family and holidays take precedence. It has been warm here too so cold weather not to blame. I hope to have the saws cutting, tumblers tumbling, grinders grinding, laps a lapping and a par....triiiidge in a pear tree. Lol . Merry Christmas everyone! Jeff A

I should have figured it was glass. Have never seen a green stone that looked like that.

Nice looking Batch Chuck, as usual you hit those on the Sweet Spot and knocked em right out of the Park. Your photography Amazes me. Wht kind of Camera are you using again?

Ripped polish and nicely cleaned up tumbles Chuck. When you have a high percentage of ceramics do you reach polish faster ?
I have had half moons on an occasional rock in a batch. If they are all the same size half moons I assume they happened in the rotary. I also assume that particular rock must be unstable or has residual stresses in it if other rocks in the same batch did not have them. They seem to occur more often in translucent agates similar to those in this batch.
Or the rotary was not filled enough and the rocks were allowed to hit each other too hard and the rocks vulnerable to moons simply mooned.

Great shine and rock quality as usual! I like the green one in slide #5. Mostly because it is opaque (my current favorites), and a color that I have never seen before. I would like to find some of that rock.

Nice looking Batch Chuck, as usual you hit those on the Sweet Spot and knocked em right out of the Park. Your photography Amazes me. Wht kind of Camera are you using again? Thanks. If you seen the camera I use you would not believe it. It is an 8 year old point and shoot that has survived two senior trips over seas in the hands of my teenagers. It has two chips in the glass of the lens and the back lcd screen is completely trashed. I have tried to replace it several times and have even bought a couple DSLR models but I always go back to old faithful for my rock pictures. It is a sony DSC-HX200V. It was not a cheap point and shoot though. 8 years ago it was $500 and it does have a very high quality Carl Zeiss lens www.dpreview.com/reviews/sony-cyber-shot-dsc-hx200vI also do not use any fancy tent setup. The pictures above are taken on my workbench. The backdrop is standard computer paper and the lighting is a couple $12 swing arm lamps with LED bulbs. Chuck
