Thanks Pat! Your right It does feel like a new lease. The last couple of years I really let myself spiral down Not all of my own doing. Except for lousy future planning, i suppose. Nontheless through it all- I kept myself intact. Proud of that. The hard work as been bonus to the physical body plus the bank account The 60-hour weeks are over. WooHoo I really pushed myself But accomplished that goal of 4 tough weeks. I'm beginning a regular 40 hour schedule. I’ll take all that I can handle and for as long as they’ll keep me. As mentioned above this new lease makes the future brighter. I have plans to either start up the rocking heart factory Or Sharpedz Mobile Sharpening rig. Anyways something to stay productive That always been my goal Happy New Year to Raymond & You

right on Eric ! it is happy ending it was do or die situation almost literally and I pulled myself out of the fire once again I thank the divinities and the support I received from the RTH crew as to the divinities well they play loaded dice with me I accept responsibility for my own dumb errors but I have had to many murphy moments consider them just random events mostly Cool. Happy you made it to where you are now, and maybe found a mechanic that is worth a sh*t. Those are pretty hard to come by these days. The devine always play loaded, they are a bit more crafty than we

right on Eric but I do have to remark crafty my ass there just plain cheat but I beat them most the time...m stly your right about that too Eric I keep my mechanics friends close. I take good care of them. They pull me out lots of trouble I suppose that because I lean towards older used cars. I like to own the car outright. No car payment. Minimum insurance. It really all I can afford. and my cars driving is very light. where I presently live I could almost not own one. But I'm not ready to give up that freedom.

I'm sure they appreciate you as much as you do them. A good customer is always taken care of first, unless you are a nazi mechanic like me that does it first come, first served.
The older cars are built better anyway. Back then they took pride in quality.
Keep the wheels Ed! Keep driving until they tear the keys from your cold dead hands!

Good to hear it worked out for you Ed. It's a nice looking car. I will soon be trading in the current go to work beater Ford Ranger pickup for either a full sized PU or SUV that will be able to tow. I hope within the year to be hitting you up for a little AZ101 schoolin'.

Hey Lee
I recall you telling me about your pickup. It will probably a little difficult giving it up?
I know this is huge undertaking trying to move. Hope it all comes together. It will be a good move if so. And I’ll be looking forward To the rock camaraderie
If there is anything I can do to be of assistance don’t hesitate
Happy New Year Lee !

Mr. mohs Glad the car is repaired. You need wheels. Congrats on the new employment. Even though I was an AZ resident for 2 short years, I miss NE AZ. Was based in Chinle. Spent a lot of time exploring Canyon De Chey. Traveled often to Tsaile, Nazlini, Rough Rock, Kayenta, Flagstaff, Prescott, Farmington, Shiprock and Gallup NM. Some other remote areas in Navajo land. Made it to Pheonix a few times. Somehow, we found a little bit of Wisconsin in AZ. The snow, excellent fishing, trees, grass. We also found many new experiences and friends. NE AZ is a beautiful area. I hope to visit there again some day.

The pickup you're thinking of was the '71 Chevy Cheyenne "Home Depot Rat Rod". Sold it not long after that trip to AZ. I've had this Ranger 4x4 for a couple years, tows the little rock and equipment trailer well but not big enough for the RV trailer we will want when we move. Looks like we most likely will be living in one while we house shop, my current partial disability means we probably don't make it back down on a shopping expedition before we sell. Got to put all that time into getting the house up here ready to go.

That's REALLY great to hear, Ed. I'm so happy for you.
We buy beaters. And, I do mean beaters. We've had some real duds, too. But, the last car we got on Craig's List about 12 years ago was a real cream puff. It had all regular maintenance done, it had some recall work done and we had receipts for EVERYTHING about it. Plus, it was a beauty. It looks a lot like yours. I LOVE that body style and can't stand the squatty, bubblized body versions now. I see very few cars now that look as nice and regal. Ours is a top of the line 97 Toyota Avalon XLS with all the options, minus the heated seats, of a full blown Lexus. We had always bought American, but this car has just been a dream. It has almost 300k on it now and still going strong. We replaced one starter to date. (I'm knocking on wood, right now.) I love this car and I am sold on Toyota.
About a week after buying our immaculate car, some douche did a hit and run in the 7-11 parking lot and damaged the front passengers side door. I was spitting mad and heart broken! Ya just can't have anything nice! There were no actual creases, though and should have been an easy fix. DH was at Food Lion where some Mexican guys were roaming the parking lot looking for some quick, body work on the side. They approached DH. 100 bucks. DH says 60. So, he came home with the door 99% fixed. Just took a few spoons and BAM! done. It looked good. Not perfect, but it looked nice again. Damn, I love that car.
I hope you get as many miles out of yours as we have gotten out of ours.

Thanks Tela Good deal. About 50 years ago some roaming gypsies happened by where I was working did some body work on my ‘66 Ford Fairlane. I was sideswiped about 2 weeks earlier. They did a good job. I think they only charged 20 bucks. They pulled out the dent grey bondo it pretty smooth. I never did paint it. That Fairlane was the first car I owned. It was my Dad’s. 3 speed on the column with overdrive. Well got to run / I’m working man Happy New Years to you & Yours See ya sooon,,,, E

Over the past year, several people have "hit and run" my Forester in parking lots. It now has about 6 body areas with dents. I could not afford the quotes for replacement panels or dent repairs. Thankful that none of the dents broke through the clear coat on finish.
I know that Subaru's last a long time, with proper maintenance, which I do. Mine only has about 130,000 miles. Should last another 100,000, at least.
