What are some typical threading specs for the ends of a 3/4” shaft in a cabbing machine?
I’m replacing the shaft in a Lortone NS8 with something longer (24”) and have sourced a good 24” shaft to use, but I don’t know what threading to ask the machine shop for. I’m just looking for external threading (not planning to tap the ends).
Thank you!

3/4-10 is coarse thread, 3/4-16 is fine thread. Fine thread as manofglass has on his is the better choice.

I went for whatever I could easily source a left hand thread nut in. In my case it was 1 inch British standard whitworth. I already had the right hand Whitworth so went with what I had. I could have had 1 inch Fine but then would have had to buy the right hand nut too. Yeah I know, I'm a cheapskate.
