I got a chance on break take a selfie at the jungle . Which is pretty freaking amohzing Being that ya only get 2 stinking fifteen minutes breaks and half hour for lunch. I park by the door, which means I arrive really early for that pleasure So I can listen to rock & roll and have a toke, Other wise ya have to park out in north forty. 2 acres away The building is massive. 3 stories tall and damn near 1/3 of mile long. I'm up and down that court Somehow I thrive on it don't know why O because I'm a rock hound I cover a lot of ground and pick things up hopefully not all leaverites but m stly

DH goes in at the crack of dawn to get a parking space, too. He has plenty of books and music to bide his time. He works quality control for Stihl, which is also a huge facility. Keeps him fit.

I work for a smaller company, but getting there early and listening to some tunes before punching in is absolutely necessary.

You been with that company for some time Time soon for healthy retiring Good for you !
Holding a job or having a career as always been problematic for me . Not always from my own doing
Last count --I’ve worked at over 86 separate jobs. All over the country. Heck the longest I ever been at one company was 5 years.
Amohz at many wide trades Not sure I master any-- but I do have heart Ha ha

I always arrive about 30 minutes early to work. Parking is usually not a problem, as we have employee parking in the back. Some other area employees use our parking area at times. Worst case, I need to park about 50' from back entrance. Coming early Gives me time to eat, as I receive no breaks unless I have an 8 (or more) hour shift. Then survey the work area, so I know what needs to be done. I have 15 minutes to set up before opening. Usually about 20 tasks. Those include moving tables/stools, which is taking longer with my broken rib. If there are customers waiting in parking lot or at door, I must open early. Sometimes owners (when they are there) open before I get there. I then must forgo eating and take over for them upon arrival. Just eat a few bites when I can.
All in all, I love where I work, but the not eating is a pain for me, as I have a medical condition which requires that I eat every 2 hours.
In the past I worked at a place where I was not eligible for the employee parking. Had to park on the street. If there was a snow emergency, I often had to park several blocks away, in a highly populated gang area. My car was damaged often. That taught me to arrive at least an hour early, to be able to park in front of where I worked. We had a Police liaison office in the building, so I knew my car would be safe. Later became eligible for employee parking. One time, There was heavy snow while I was at work. My husband came with the 4WD truck to pick me up. We left my car in parking lot. Came back the next day (a Saturday when business was closed) to get it. Discovered parking lot snow plowing had rammed my car, causing considerable damage. They had actually used the plow to move it several times. Extensive body/frame damage. In the end, they paid about 75% value of car, as it was totaled. Insurance picked up the rest. I loved that car, but we were able to purchase a newer one for me.
So, I understand the woes of getting to work early, minimal breaks and doing what one must do.

nada knave they pay for those 2 measly 15 minutes breaks takes ya 3 minutes to walk to the break room and 3 minutes to walk back so they only pay ya for the 9 minutes of break time ha Amazon has the data down pat

actually its amazing from years past how much more liberal the company as becomes about their fussiness on data rates
the booming economy as made it an employees market so they have to temper their strictness because people can kind find work elsewhere
still there the best paying - best benefit warehouse work they really rock in that category and you do have to stay on task and work hard
unfortunately it not very skilled labor for entry level mostly assholes & elbows
and to work your way up well... the hurdle pretty high they been known to burn out more than a few people
nonetheless at my level I thrive on it but I don't care to be full time permanent employee although they'd like to hire me
anyway I have A lot to say about it
I'll do it as long as I can take it at this level or untill they tell me there the door....

A grumpy old service tech like me can get paid to eat, and if the job stinks bad enough, they get to pay me for some “recovery time” as well

there are no free lunches knave but if you found one hold on to it! Well it’s like this. The customer wants to request me as their tech they get all the baggage that comes with it. OCD, lunch breaks, chat with managers, but when I leave the stuff is usually working and we are all smiling. It can be a stressful job at times.
