Got a AR12 its averaging 22 to 24 rpm.ive read the book over and can't find know where what its supposed to be. Question 2 barrel weighs little over 3pounds does this mean I can put up to 9 pounds of material in the Barrel? Thanks in advance!! I don't know the specs on your tumbler, as I'm a Lortone guy. That said, a Lortone 12 pound barrel turns at about 30-31 RPMs. I'd call Thumlers if you have questions about how your tumbler should be turning. Frankly, I wouldn't worry about how much material you put in your barrel as it relates to stated weight. It's my opinion only, but I don't care about weight. I just look to load by volume. I typically load 2/3 to 3/4 full when loading with rocks. That seems to be the standard in most barrel loading instructions. That's just me.

I will definitely buy lorotone next time I've called the manufacture and emailed them no response yet.but thanks

I have an AR12. I find the action better at 3/4 full than 2/3, and I have mine turning right around 24rpm. I have pulleys that will turn it up to 33rpm, but I find 24rpm to work better with the hexagonal barrel shape

I am at 3/4 full with the 3 lb barrel on my Chicago Electric tumbler. That works well.

Greetings transpowell1970, forget the weight and just fill your barrel to 75% full, then weigh it, for me with a 12lb Lortone barrel it's something in the region of 20Kg (44lb), bearing in mind the barrel weighs 5.5lbs alone!

My holiday recipe for filling my barrel usually results in me gaining some kg...
