Total newbie for this. Was expecting, maybe 12, tumble sized rocks. The package arrived while I was at work yesterday. Checked mailbox today. Was in awe to receive a bulging package of rocks. I opened the SFRB and was in even more awe. I have followed the posts of others who have entered this contest. Never expected to receive this large amount of high quality rocks. Might be "dumb luck", but there are lots of rocks with great potential here. Figure enough to fill two, 3 lb. barrels. That is after I slice and shape some. I can do nothing with these until May, but wanted to share what I received. If you feel inclined, please let me know if I lucked out on what was sent. If any long time entrants (and winners) feel inclined, I would appreciate your advice. Rest assured, I am not a threat to you. I plan on slicing some of the larger rocks. Then doing initial stages in my CE 3 lb rotary. Then move to the Lot O. They way I look at it, this was a great opportunity for me to experiment with some new material and new equipment. Thanks

I got mine too and I'm so excited to see it after a week in coarse - when the colors really start to pop out! I'll post a pic of my batch right before I put it in course - but, I have to wait for a barrel to free up first.

It's really close. I had to look close to see the difference.

Got mine today. Guess I'll give it another shot. They do look better than 2 years ago.

Lol, I have 500# of that stuff. Who wants to cheat with my cherry picked material? Lol That's funny. I don't have nearly that much (probably 100), but I was thinking the exact same thing.

Yeah I'm that guy, and I'm quoting myself. I just realized I have finished product that can be high-graded for a head start... The only downfall is it would probably have to be vibe finished to have a chance. This was only rotary finished. This stuff can be had cheap for anyone interested. I Kid. It will be interesting to see how this contest turns out. Beautiful tumbles from Lavic can be had, but the material can pit and crevasse like nobody's business. Good luck to the participants. I'll be sitting this one out (again).
