We have a fun Tuesday event at work. Customers can bring in LP records to be played. Everyone who brings in a record receives $1.00 off each drink. We encourage obscure and vintage artists.
I worked my first Tuesday last night. Set up a simple turntable on the end of bar. Put a stand up to display current album. Customers receive a quick low down of how to use the turntable. Then can place/remove their own albums.
Had brought in some of my own LP's, in case there were limited ones from others. Good thing, as there were none brought in for the first 3.5 hours.
Eventually, customers arrived with albums. A nice variety.
Until then, I played the following: Bill Staines, Marty Robbins, Sons of the Pioneers, Robert Plant, Burl Ives and Alan Parsons Project.
Customers brought Jethro Tull, The Who, Led Zepplin and a few from little known artists who names I forgot.
It was a fun night.
This gives customers a chance to share their favorite artists with others. Also allows those with no means of playing LP's at home a chance to listen to part of their collection.

I guess LP's are making a comeback, they've been selling turntables again for a while. I have two on my wall at work, and you guessed it- both are Metallica. Kill Em All and Garage Days Revisited. They may not have played those.

That actually sounds pretty fun.
There was a corner bar I used to go to a lot. In the mornings, I would go and get coffee and wait on the bus while my son played PacMan Asteroids. There was a DJ called Capt Lagnaf. He ended up buying into the bar and so, he was there a long time. About 20 something years later, I went in there on a lark and asked him to play this one really off the wall song that no one had ever heard of, but one that I had gotten him to play 100 times back in the day. He immediately recognized me and "my song". He pulled out the single, blew it off, flipped it over and played it for me. It was sooooo awesome! The power of music...
The flip side of Cars. LOVE this song!
