Not weather related.
A local brewery is having their anniversary party this upcoming weekend. People come from across the USA and Canada to attend this event.
Tickets for the party are sold ahead of time.
There is live music and a food truck on location. Also some special releases of bottled beer.
Shuttle buses run from Stevens Point to/from the location every 30 minutes.
Some are unaware that in order to attend one must purchase tickets in advance. Often, people think they can purchase tickets at the door, as it is listed as an option. There are usually enough advance ticket sales to negate the door sales.
Ticket holders often wait in line for hours. The receive an opportunity to buy some bottles of special beers. Drink special beers on tap. They also receive a wrist band for entrance throughout the weekend.
Those without tickets who made the trip are looking from something else brewery related to do.
The shuttles buses stop by where I work.
Some of the bus riders have not had anything to drink. Some have had way too much.
My employer and the 4 restaurants in that retail area are extremely busy.
Last year we had 3 bar tenders. At times there were over 40 customers. The 3 of us were constantly serving customers, cleaning tables/bar and stocking bathrooms/merchandise.
The norm for bar tenders is 1-2 when there are not major events in he area. This year we will have 2-3 bar tenders. I am working the early shift with the understanding to stay late if needed. Potential for a 12 hour shift, but I doubt that will happen. No way I could handle that.
I had heard horror stories from others about the past, which I will not share here. Thankfully, none of those happened.
Worst events were several broken glasses and a few broken growlers in parking lot. Plus a couple other things some might find gross. No, no vomit.
As of now, forecast says rain, snow, ice. People who have had too much to drink on bad roads is not a good mix.
Thankfully, there are extra Law Enforcement out there for this weekend.
Wish my co-workers and I the best of luck. Thank you.
