Do you buy rough to slab or just slabs to cut? You could try contacting Tony through his website idahorockshop.com or his Facebook page (also idahorockshop) and see if he has something you might like.
I bought a bunch of Owyhee rough from Tony. He said he was going to handle the Q sales for the guy who has a WC mine. I haven't touched bases with him recently. He is selling the WC rough for Larry. Larry is not doing the shows anymore. Get in touch with Tony and I'm sure he'll be able to help you out.

Nice hunk of boulder opal, and affordable. Wow. Thanks! I was excited to get it. Can't wait to cut some cabs out of it. I think they'll be really pretty.

Was good to see you all again! I have a whole riker mount full of cabs of the Moganite, I will try to get some pictures outside tomorrow.

Morganite is awesome sauce!!! Bill, moganite, not morganite. Morganite is pink! I'd never even heard of moganite, had to look it up.

Nice haul but you missed the Kambaba Jasper and the Ruby Zoisite I had in my booth on consignment, hmmm, maybe next time.

Ok, Moganite is SiO2(silicon dioxide) in this case with some teal inclusion, though Mindat shows it to be a cloudy tan, Adventurine is a blue~green SiO2 as well. what differentiates Adventurine and blue Moganite?

MsAli here's the big reveal:
Unfortunately, the boulder opal I bought had a crack in it in an upper corner and it cracked. But, I'll still get stones out of it.
Vince did better on the little nut he wanted:
Here's a peak at the inside of the smallest piece of Moganite:
The last reveal for the day is inside a piece of Shattuckite that we got from Christopher.

Hmmm. This is in response to the good question from whyofquartz.
First thing I think of is that good Aventurine has layers of flashy little flakes in it. Can be a pain to get the orientation right when slabbing it.
Not a mineralogist, so "flashy little flakes" is all I can give you without looking it up... .

Thank you for sharing those Robin!
It is hard to tell but did the boulder give lots of color?
Do you stabilize shattuckite?

Thank you for sharing those Robin! It is hard to tell but did the boulder give lots of color? Do you stabilize shattuckite? The boulder has some decent color in it, mostly blues and purple. There's some green and a bit of red in there, but yeah, it's really hard to tell from those pictures. The light wasn't right and we all know that I'm a crappy picture taker.
I haven't tried cutting the shattuckite yet. I think it will cut without stabilizing it, but I won't know for sure until Vince slabs me a piece to try out.

I have dug a lot of this Shattuckite with Rodney, the owner of the mine. It will not need to be stabilized, it is very solid.

It is heavier than all get out, that's for sure! I'll be testing a piece very soon.
Thanks for the info!

Was it the smaller ruby spots or big ones? It was the smaller ruby spots with some big ones mixed in. Not a lot of ruby in what we had but there were some good pieces.
