Fossilized cartilage. Amazing. I wonder how often they find that?

Most of the world was under water for a very long time... I bet there's all kinds of fossilized critters in the mountains, caves and etc, that were sea creatures... I know they find sharks teeth in Montana in the Snowy Mountains, not far from my home town....

Fossil sharks from the mississippian are rare. There was a shark tooth found at Block,(former town location) Tennessee in the strata between the coal seam in the Pennsylvanian. younger but also very rare in these strata

Very cool! I went there many times as a kid and hope to take my kids there in the near future.
