I have the 1 barrel version and it’s been running good for 4-5 months now but it’s not Lortone quality.

I’d buy a Lortone from The Rock Shed. I ran a Lortone 33B for about six or seven years before I built a homemade one. The Lortone still works, I’m just not using it.

Looks like the 33B is $115 from The Rock Shed, double the price! What's the difference between this and the Leegol? Better quality?

To be fair, a local shop here is selling the 33B for over $160... then again they keep pricing things to not move...
If memory serves, the CE likes to eat belts and people have problems with the barrels gripping the roller bars... If that Leegol is a re-colored/branded CE, then it's probably in the same boat.
Lortones are a freaking tank by comparison. 33B has 1.5 years of use on it and still haven't had a belt break.
Your call. Double the price at $115 seems like a jump, but that's still cheaper than what Lortone's own catalog lists them for.

Good enough for me! I went ahead and got the Lortone, plus a bunch of tumbling rough. In my opinion getting better quality is well worth extra cost, because you ultimately end up saving money not having to replace things. Looking forward to tripling my tumbling capacity!

It appears to be a product of Chinese manufacturing. It might be a decent product, but using Harbor Freight as a model, I'd pass. I, personally would stick to either Lortone or Thumlers, simply because parts are readily available and quality is pretty good for either. I'll admit that Lortone and Thumlers "might" have their stuff done off-shore, but I don't know for sure. In any event, I'd pay the extra money for companies that are a known quantity. Buy once, cry once. ETA: Just saw that I responded before looking at all of the subsequent replies, including the choice to get a Lortone. Good move.

Yeah, good choice on the Lortone! I have both a Lortone and a Harbor Freight tumbler running side by side. Just to support your decision... My HF tumbler has been down a few times in the last month. When the parts break there's more time that the rocks aren't moving on the HF due to waiting for parts. The HF is much louder than the Lortone. I haven't had my tumblers very long, but I'm already always waiting for the HF tumbler to break and I check it every day to make sure nothing is on fire. My next rock purchase will be either a wet saw or the Lortone QT66. I would like to eventually tumble bigger rocks and the QT66 allows for a single 12lb barrel as well.

Finished another round today, and thes are the ones ready for stage 2. I think I have enough, finally! Lortone should be in tomorrow so I'll set it up on that.

Just to chime in:
When I was looking at tumblers before I joined the forum, I looked on Amazon and saw horrible reviews for the cheaper Harbor Freight and Leegol tumblers. I like “good deals” and was initially drawn to them, but ultimately decided it wasn’t worth the risk given the bad reviews. Instead a bought a rubber barrel 1# tumbler (Dan and Darci brand) which is targeted more towards children. This one I do like, but it’s only 1# and you can’t get additional barrels.
After a week or so, I decided to go for the Lortone 33B. The issues I’ve had with it have been very minor and easily dealt with. I didn’t think my 1# tumbler was loud, but the Lortone is VERY quiet. Inaudible from the room next to it. I’ve only had it a couple weeks now, but overall it seems very easy to service. I also bought two extra barrels. My plan for this is run a different grit in each barrel... this is because I don’t have access to outdoor running water (so cleaning out grits will be difficult). Unnecessary, but gives me peace of mind. I have heard that most people will keep a separate barrel for polish at least if they use a rotary for polish. I love that I can get the barrels by themselves.
Next rotary tumbler will probably be the QT66 because I’ve had such a good experience with Lortone.

Plus 1 on the QT66. But they can get hungry for more rocks. The bigger barrels make everything a little bit faster.

Love my Lortone QT-66 and you can always buy a 12 pound barrel later down the line to run on the same machine.

It's here! That's my Rock Shed haul, in my new indoor tumbling area. I got a bunch of tumbling rough and media with the discount. No time to do anything other than unpack tonight, but she'll be rolling soon enough!
