Yes, I did recharge with more coarse and did add tiny agates. As you mention there was significant room to add. I think I added half to a pound in the 4 and 3-4 lbs in the 12, something like that.
Hoping I can turn these into a Polish, not perfect, but polished:)

There are some real beauties in there. Had the pleasure of tumbling a lot of Lakers, they're definitely a 'must grab' whenever I see them.

Nice stones... That metal screen will scratch the stones and steak them also...

Wow I can’t even imagine a UV-45. I have a hell of a time just feeding my UV-10.

Help! 🤣🤣 Would appreciate some opinion or confirmation of what I've done.
Thanks! 🤓

With all those deep pits and cracks, I’d throw them back in the first stage until they were all gone, but I try to be a perfectionist. Throes pits may have carried over rough grit and sounds like your slurry was way to thick. I’d also use large and small ceramics and make sure you have a mix of different size rocks and not to many big ones.

Pretty hard to "ruin" agate (you can always re-run them!) Many of them look to me like they could have simply spent more time in rough to begin with. Also, looks like you're using borax? It's a huge pain to clean out if you have ANY pits or voids. You could try sugar, or just make sure the rocks are flawless before moving on. Patience. They're gonna be gorgeous!

Thanks for the suggestions.
I think I've seen it mentioned before - Half moons? - is what I think I'm seeing and tried to show on a couple of the pics. Is that something I'm causing or part of the rock already? I don't remember seeing them like that after rough, making me think i was doing something more poorly in stage 2.
No borax.
I did sprinkle in some sugar for my first time.

I did sprinkle in some sugar for my first time. Those can exist in the rocks when collected, and can be caused by the tumbling, although I get virtually none on agate in the Lot-o. (A lot of stuff I collect is VERY beat up.) Only way to know for sure is running rough til there ain't none, then close examination between stages. Get to know 'em!

Those crescents are usually created by the rocks chattering. I’d definitely use large ceramics. I’m not a big fan of the small ceramics in my UV-10. They basically just stick to the sides of the bowl and ride up the sides and get stuck to the bottom of the lid.
