I have a small table outside with a chair net to it. I put slabs that I look at to design while smoking a cigar. Except for the Tahoma the slabs havw been sitting on the table for a long time. The Owyhee slab was giving me a hard time. I finally found two scenes to cut. Owyhee, Morrisonite, Tahoma, Clam shell fossil stone, Nipomo Marcasite. The Tahoma fractured on the top so I needed to truncate and will make a new top.

I have 8 shaped, dopped and girdle line marked to work on tomorrow. The 5 above except the middle Owyhee and added 2 Blue Mountain and another one that is probably Willow Creek.

Filed under don't count your chickens...… I've had the slab for well over 10 years and couldn't find a design until I got my new template. I got the pattern I wanted and my only concern was the dark vertical line that might be a shallow vug. I started grinding this morning even though it was cold and started on this preform. 5 minutes into the session, oh oh. I glued it back together and will work on it until it fractures again. I really liked the pattern and am very stubborn. It can't be recut with a decent pattern. .

So sorry to see that. I hope that you can finish to the point of being reasonably satisfied, even if it won't be sold.

So sorry to see that. I hope that you can finish to the point of being reasonably satisfied, even if it won't be sold. Without spending much time on it, I will know if it is a lost cause. If it looks really good that starts another discussion; put it away or sell with a big fat disclosure. I expect most people would never consider selling something that was glued back together. Someone might want to let the customer decide. I'll keep working on it until I decide to give up. I don't even know if I can get it off the dop without if falling apart again. I hope to at least get a picture.
