Just heard that all the elk are coming down out of the high areas, might be something to it.

My whole house moved about 3 inches to the left and then snapped back in place like it was hooked to a big rubber band. Sounded like a huge windstorm outside.

You might want to have your house checked out to make sure none of the electrical or gas connections got cracked or knocked out of place. Better to be safe than sorry.
ETA: Plumbing, too!

To move your rock foundation That's serious mofo
And not to make light of it But I was in the Kalamazoo Tornado of May 13th 1980
Freaking thing lifted up a 2-story home, rotated it 180 degrees, and set it back down on its foundation You really couldn’t a difference From a dissonance It looked fine…
Hopefully the shaking now remains mild!

As a native Idahoan, I remember when Mt. Borah shifted a few feet upward a long time ago. That rattled things up a bunch. The state's tallest mountain, it gained a few feet in elevation rather quickly. On a trip to Idaho a couple of years ago we visited the fault scarp -- a huge displacement line that runs across the landscape all the way into Nevada, though it's not visible in all places. Idaho's a tectonically restless place and big earthquakes can be expected every few decades.
