This is a slab from something I found on the Willamette River in Oregon. The question is: what was it? Was is a plant of some kind? Or maybe a simple sea creature? I would love to find out.

Perhaps Sycamore, the grain looks like it if I recall correctly.

There was a thread back in September 2015 started by broseph82 , with members asked to post their favorite pet wood finds. forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/72265/post-favorite-pet-wood-findswoodman posted this nice pic of Golden Oak. I thought it looked similar. Lighter color, but similar grain structure.

So that people do not get confused, this Golden Oak Photo of mine is of a couple of pieces of Oak roots. similar to the tree trunk but different.
