Could the broken belt get stuck in either pulley? When that happens on commercial RTU the damage is amazing.

oregon I'd wager James' experience with dry loads is accurate, and that having the load solidify wouldn't cause a catastrophic change in the machine's operation. My load, while a little dry on top after sitting for a bit, was mostly still wet throughout, and I've never experienced a load drying out so bad that it solidified. knave That's an interesting idea. I doubt it would happen, at least with the o-rings i use for belts. One of my o-rings does show signs of abrasion (more like skid marks maybe) but if it would've gotten caught up somehow I'd expect it to show more obvious damage. Definitely worth consideration though and not beyond possibility.

They break in pairs every time. They break every ~8 pound load one time doing the 7-8 day SiC 500/AO 220/AO polish routine for the 102nd load of glass. So they have a 1 week life. Cost is a dollar a pair. Any way, not once have they ever been sucked into the rotating shaft/motor zone go figure.

I put them on 3-4 years ago. I have run it 24-7 for at least 2 of those years. I had tried many others including making my own with the same material with varying degrees of success. I could have saved a lot of money and time if I had bought the correct ones at the start. Many times you get what you pay for........................MrP

***EDIT*** I don't think that seller is in business anymore, the website and cart work but I never received my order or any reply to phone / email messages, so I requested and received a refund from PayPal.

Great advise MrP. figured you had the best way. Am a bit timid about changing the dialed in glass polisher. Once it polished glass I did not want to change nothing. It's time to try the OEM's ! Betting the OEM belts will not cause any issues. I will say that the o-rings are way stretchier in the hot summer than cold winter. Saying that there is some variation in the stiffness with no ill effects.

I don't know if this seller is legit. It's been over 2 weeks and I've tried contacting him for processing / shipping info several times but haven't received a reply.
MrP where did you get your belts? I'm ready to cancel this order and try somewhere else.

tims I ordered mine right from Diamond Pacific in 2008. They were $8.75 each at that time, you need two. I ordered 4 at the time and am still on the first set so I guess I have more time on them then I thought. I hope the new ones are as good as the older ones. The part # 490-861796. Good Luck...............MrP

Yikes that scares me and I'm fearless! Hmmm yep slome kind of lube is definitely needed. If no grease fitting is in there I would drill tap and put a nerk in or order new pillow blocks that have grease fittings. I prefer grease over oil. ~Duke

Can you show us the counterweights looking at them end Axel view? They seem like they are counterbalancing each other for little to no vibe action.

I don't see an easy way to get an end view without serious disassembly. The normal action of the vibe at this setting is plenty to keep the whole load circulating at a good pace, I don't think I'd want the action to be any more aggressive.

Thanks for sharing, and sorry to hear of your tumbling troubles. I hesitate to put anything in a Vibratory tumbler unless I know it is solid. Otherwise all kinds of bad stuff can happen. I sympanthize with you.
