This is at least tangentially lapidary related in that I have a fair amount of miscellaneous lapidary equipment that needs to be restored, including cleaning up and repainting. Everything from a freestanding 12" slab saw to thumler and Murray style tumbler barrels, to miscellaneous arbors, frames, and smaller parts.
My thought is that I need to set up the capacity to sandblast (media blast).
I'm kind of on a budget, and looking for advice on setting something up that I can do in my yard.
I do have a compressor, but concerned it may be too low volume (4.5cfm@90psi, 5.5 cfm@40psi). As a result, thinking pressure (as opposed to siphon) blasting? Perhaps build a pressure tank from an old propane tank?
Looking for any advice on equipment, methods, etc from those who are experienced.
Thanks!
Argh

From my personal experience restoring old lapidary equipment, for small pieces I bought a sand blast cabinet at harbor freight, for anything large I take to the local sand blasting Co.
