So, my lot-o action lately hasn't been great. I looked closer at my springs (there are 2 pairs in the back under the motor and 2 single springs in the front). ONE of the lower springs on the back under the motor was broken. So, I ordered a set of 6 new springs and decided to replace them all just for giggles.
this SUCKED. I am not sure what tools I don't have, but none of the spring screws under the motor were easily accessed. I had to use a pliers to grip and turn each small hex-nut. To get the new springs screwed back into the base was a major pain in the a**. I'm not sure I didn't ruin the head if I need to do this again in the future.
Does anyone have tips / tooks or tricks the suggest for getting at these springs easier?

1/4 and 3/16 tools. If they are gearwrenches it's even better!

Under the frame is 1/4, if I remember right on top it's 3/16 or 5/16 the 2 confuse me constantly. Would rather use metric measurements

Aren't they pan heads underneath? I usually unscrew the springs from the board have access to the bottom of the frame that way. (been very pleased with my used sawzall blade replacement springs

That's weird. Mine are all 1/4" hex bolts/screws

I can't remember having any issues changing mine and I am not near it to look because of working on the road.
