I am posting this as I need some help. Know there are many knowledgeable people here. If anyone thinks this post is offensive or too personal, I will remove it. This is not a drama queen posting. I need advice. This air conditioner was delivered today by my Son in Law. My house is a tin can right now. I almost passed out from Heat Exhaustion yesterday. I do not have any windows to outside in my main living area. Son in Law and I discussed options and this is what his engineer sode recommended. Here is the unit. There is a window in my living room that is near an electric outlet. The window leads to my enclosed front porch. Son in law suggested placing the unit near the window in living room. Have a 5 gallon pail in the porch to place the air exchange/outlet hose into. Keep the hose at least 4" above top of pail. The adapter would be placed in the window. I would need to block part of the window opening. Would also need to empty water in the pail often. There would be no fresh air circulation, but there should be cooling. I might need to turn off the unit while at work, as there may bee a lot of water accumulation in the pail. I am on my own to install this tomorrow. Thank you.

Setting it up on a counter near a sink for drainage and a window for the vent would be ideal

1 pipe. About 3' high, so no counters for it.
I did a rigged system for now. It is working, but am concerned about any condensation. Opened the window pictured above. The plastic piece the vent/drain hose fits in is almost as wide as my window. I duct taped the plastic piece and a piece of cardboard filler between the bottom of window and sill. Placed a small loaf pan next to vent opening to porch for catching any water.
Will turn it off when I go to work today.

Still need a more permanent set up for the rest of summer. But temp in living room has gone from 85 to 80 in about 45 minutes.
