I love the 4th of July. It's one of my favorite holidays. Most years, DH has a mandatory week off and we go camping in the mountains. This year he has to work. Not only that, but someone close to him at work tested positive and now DH is sick. We are pretty sure it is just sinuses, but he is self isolating just to be safe. SOOOOO, our plans are shot.
Will you post your festive 4th of July pictures so I can see what I'm missing? I'm a glutton for punishment.

Have a safe and happy Fourth of July. Just got through freezing 20 half pints of fresh peaches this morning. Plan on putting some burgers on the grill - corn and baked beans to go with them.

Wish we were doing something festive, but today is pretty much going to be like any other day except we put the flag out.
ETA: Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th! I'll be tending the BBQ and leisurely sorting through a ton each of Picasso marble and Holt Canyon agate/jasper. For me it doesn't get much better than that.

I’m going to an auction for an 18” saw. I don’t want it, but want to be there.
If enough Marion blackberries are ready, I’ll be making jam.
AND preparing for husband’s 87th birthday tomorrow. : )

Awesome, thank you. Looks like it was a nice day for it, too.

rockjunquie the river was full of canoes, we went on the st Croix. The landing at Osceola was like grand central, they had officers directing traffic, 4 canoe outfitters coming and going.

I usually just stay inside on/around Independence Day. Too many crazy mfrs out there for my tastes. Can't tell if it's gunshots or fireworks and I'd like to know exactly what I'm hearing.
Hope all of you had / are having a great time!

Tela, that’s too bad about your DH’s work. Hope you all are gonna be ok. The neighbor put on a quite good show, I managed to video one , I’ll try to post it.

Still packing so we can have our home on the market ASAP. Discovered rot in the floor of the toy hauler trailer we got to move with, spent the day cutting it out. Tomorrow I put a floor in the worst area. I have two neighbors here who love fireworks, haven't bought any in years, just take out a chair and enjoy.

Are you making him a special birthday dinner?

He will have a goooood day, and a special birthday dinner provided by a daughter, and the lemon bundt cake provided (not made) by me. I made him his favorite lemon meringue pie for our anniversary a couple weeks ago.

Found out where some of the loud fireworks went off in the neighborhood. War zone a block away from the house Sunday morning. Boaters for Trump parade on a local lake - Local news photo.
