Here's a rugged little turd. It's one of my favorites.

Nice! The outside provides insight to the inside.

That looks pretty heavy. He needed more fiber.

Does anyone see the side profiles of the bulldogs facing away from each other? Kinda looks like they are wearing leather helmets. agatewhisperer Alex, this one is peculiar, and I find the exterior texture to be attention grabbing. I can't put my finger on it, but it seems different somehow. I'm going to look at it some more, and that reminds me of some young guys I hang out with who like to tease me. The other day they coined a name for me... old turd gazer.

Lol I'm not sure those are the type of guys you should be hanging out with... 😂 Let me know if you want some more pictures or different angle. And yes now I can't unsee the bulldog!

As far as the exterior goes, I think it is the flow lines that is getting my attention. It definitely resembles a more modern cow patty than the pelletized coprolites.

Not only is there no obvious evidence of pellets on the exterior there's no pellet appearance in the cut surfaces either. I wonder if it's due to the species of the critter or diet or just a coincidence.

I love the yellow agate fortification lines and yes that's a red jasper gastrolith. For some reason these little red pebbles are dominant as far as gastroliths go from this area. I imagine there was a lot of red jasper sand/gravel in the area that got ingested.
Now days when I roam the area I don't see so much red jasper pebbles except in petrified banks of aluvial deposits that are concurrent with the coprolite deposits.
Thanks for sharing.

Here's another good example of how to cut a coprolite for specimen purposes.
