Afternoon all.
I picked up a 33b the other day and set it up with both barrels on Monday night.
Today when I came in from work it is making a loud squeeling noise that wasn't there when I first started. I checked the barrels to make sure they weren't rubbing on something and pulled them off. The noise stopped with it plugged in.
I just put them back on and the noise is back. I don't see anything obviously wrong but am really new at this.
Anyone had this problem and might could suggest what I could do to try to fix it or what to look at?
Thanks for any help.

Is it the little plastic guide that rubs on the barrel lid on the end opposite the motor?

I'd suspect lack of oil on the bearings...at least that would be the first thing I'd check. Just a drop of light oil is all you need on each.
If it's a used machine, I'd also be looking at the condition of the bearings to ensure they haven't worn. If they've worn through at all, the squealing could be shaft rubbing the frame wall. You will have to take the shafts off to look.

All you need is something light like 3 in 1 oil. Your manual should have info about oiling the bearings. ETA: richj Are you a shooter? Gun oil might get you by. I use a synthetic gun oil on my tumblers. I think I've seen others mention sewing machine oil as well.

Good Morning All:
Thanks for the input. I oiled it yesterday after letting it cool down over night. Seems to have done the trick. As of this morning that annoying sound is gone and we are back to tumbling.
Hope y'all are having a good Sunday.
