Three down! Took another shot at silversmithing this past weekend and made a ring for my daughter's birthday. Third piece finished, first opal I've cut...so hard to get pictures, too much flashy stuff. Not exactly how I wanted it, but had to call it done otherwise she was never going to get it lol. The theme was generally "I didnt' see that coming!" and "Guess I should have thought ahead a little more". I'm adept at learning all the ways I shouldn't do things. You did a great job on that ring! It looks fabulous. Nice flashy little opal there, too. She will love it!

You're always too critical of yourself. Good to see you trying again. That looks great and she will love it.

Beautiful ring and beautiful opal, so your opal must look even better yet to the eye! If there are any "things I shouldn't do" in your ring, they certainly don't show in the photos.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone! Overall I'm happy with it, there are just a few imperfections that didn't sit well with me but I probably would have killed the ring if I tried to fix them, so I just stopped where it's at. I am a perfectionist to a fault, but I've at least learned to let things go out flaws and all - eventually
