My friend came back from her vacation in Arkansas with some spiffy rocks she collected for me. One of them she swore was a geode although I was doubtful. Turns out she had a great eye. It was a geode. It's a beautiful thing fi lled with tiny sugar like crystals. It is very brittle though and cracked open while I was cutting it. Not sure how to stabilize it.

It's looks a lot like a Moroccan Geode. They have a very brittle outer skin and are generally broken open rather than being cut on a saw. You can find them in some Rock Shops and Museum Shops. I was given a bucket of them and they sell pretty well for me.
Google "Moroccan Geode" and you will find a lot of images similar to yours.

It looks exactly like the Morrocan ones. At first I thought it was a Keokuk but it was found a bit too far south.
