I have been planning a trip over the hill to the Lucky Strike thunder egg digs for a while now. I was looking at their facebook page and they say they will be closing Sept 25th. They also say they will not be re-opening next year. After the field season, eggs go to $5 a pound.
Has anyone been there lately? I was curious what they are charging for self dug eggs. Their website says no credit cards due to lack of services at the mine. I have nearly run out of Lucky Strikes and I personally think they are some of the best Oregon has to offer. Any input appreciated!

A buddy of mine and also a nabor (I cut some for them) of mine did some digging up there at the mine this year... My buddy brought back 50 pounds of eggs for me, so yes worth the trip to go... From them being robbed twice and people tearing their property up, they aren't as happy to run the location anymore... They still are very nice people though and treat you that way too..

I was going to head over this weekend, but the weather isn’t looking pleasant. They have a Facebook page with their days and hours.
