The wife and I had to evacuate Monday night with just minutes notice. Been camping and moving around central Oregon ever since. Our place has not burned yet but the wind is now blowing the fire toward our property. We are holding hope that we will be spared. Our community was not and I know hundreds of homeless people now. We are doing ok and hope to get to return to our place in the next few weeks. Kind regards all......

That's really scary. Sincere hopes that all will be well with your family and your property. We live in an area of SoCal that's constantly under fire threat this time of year. We have "go bags" of essentials at the ready each Fall but have been lucky so far. Best wishes for a safe return to your intact home.

Thank you all, It seems that our place will make it. We have been taken in by an amazing woman in Sisters Oregon, the closest unevacuated town to our property. We have been able to return to our place for a couple of short runs and collect the most dear things to our hearts. We are not completely out of the woods yet but it is looking like we were spared. We should know within a few days when we can return and start cleaning up the damage from the wind and ash that ravaged the canyon. Many trees down on our place and fences crushed. All things that can be repaired. Many friends lost everything and we will help them to the limits of our ability. Many were not so lucky and they have started to find the deceased. Life goes on for most of us and we are taking it day to day... Best, Bill

The Holiday Farm fire in the McKenzie River canyon, western Oregon. Still 0% contained but the weather has shifted and we may get some rain. Holding our breath that it does not push the fire toward us and they can secure the line...

Thanks for checking in. I'm glad it looks like your house will be spared, but my heart breaks for all those folks who lost everything. Bless the woman who took you in and I'll be praying for all of you until these fires are contained.
