I bought a 220/280 soft 8 inch top wheel. I haven't mounted it, but when I saw it, I bought a johnsonbrothers soft wheel. I have bought a number of those and have been very satisfied. the jb looks and acts like a Nova. The top was different. It looked similar to a belt glued to the wheel.

If I was looking at that machine The very first thing after checking for any slack in the bearings
Next whether they are a sealed bearing or a pillow bearings they are easy to find if replacement is needed plus you can grease them when needed
Next fire the unit up that will tell up even more like Are there any leaks in the pans With that saw/grinding attachment to me looks like a sweet deal. A slab can be cut then rough ground and preformed and trimmed in a matter of minutes.
When your deciding whether or not it is working properly turn on the water for the coarse grinding wheel and see wear the water goes. Does the water spray everywhere and soak the switches or just the grinding wheel?
Then move on to turn on the rest of the water and inspect for any leaks
If there water is working correctly, everything is tight with the bearings, the switches are not getting wet, the stand is in solid shape, all the wheels on the machine all have little or not much wear & tear, me I would take my jackknife to check around the drip pans to see how solid or rusted the drip pan is.
If everything is in satisfactory condition go for it Most of the older stuff was made to last but be very picky and first and foremost do your home work You would have to have a custom drip pan made pricy To start right out of the gate replacing all grinding wheels before you could use it again pricy Motors are not cheap either let it run and listen for any noises coming from it
I hope this was helpful besides lengthy

Wheels were expensive. The list on a DP 80 grit 8 inch wheel is around $300 and can be purchased on ebay for about $200 delivered. I've been buying wheels for 15 years and an 8 inch plastic core jadecarver wheel is good or better than DP. The Lithuanian top wheels are excellent. I have only bought the 6 inch. They are aggressive and cut as least as fast as 8 inch DP. I’ve been looking at the Lithuanian top wheels (I think) on Etsy to replace Nova wheels. They certainly look like they’d be aggressive. Thoughts? stephan I think there was a thread on these wheels a while back and I remember that some of the comments said they were aggressive and high quality.

So I am in search for a craftool 10in saw I have the saw box and tray but there is no bearing housing, shaft and blade. It was missing when I got the unit. I would even settle for borrowing or renting the parts so that I could get one made from it. Anything helps .I am curious if this unit is still available. Anyways Anything helps. Thanks

Some of the saw manufacturers actually sell bearings and arbor separately (as replacements) so judicious study of your machine and comparison with others (I'd think about Raytech and Rock Rascal as examples) you may just hit on the configuration you need. Otherwise a machinist with more time than ambition to make money could help you out.

Thanks rt6nalley welcome to the forum. Instead of posting inside of this older thread I would recommend that you start a new thread in the rock cutting area of the forum. This way your inquiry will be sure to get a lot of fresh eyeballs looking at it.
