I cleaned some amazonite and Smokey Quartz from CO and the ones at the bottom of the tub turned black. Person I got them from suggests “get some pure, food grade citric acid and mix maybe 1/2 cup with 1/2 cup iron out to a gallon and see if it dissolves or softens the deposit. Keep the solution above 60 degrees, and don’t let it sit for over 24 hours.” I am also going to use distilled water instead of well water that may have contributed to the staining. Before I start, does anyone have advice or can confirm that this is a good course of action? Thanks in advance.
