Hey everyone, glad to have found this place. I am new to rock collecting having started this year, but have already amassed a collection that has made its way into almost every room of the house. Now that collecting season is over, its sorting, cleaning and tumbling season! So I am trying to research different tumbler options and what will work best for me. My favorite rocks are agate and jasper, plentiful in Minnesota. Im very lucky that I have so many places to pick over! I'm always interested in learning more and will probably lurk and read a lot. Will definitely contribute where I can. Thanks for having me here! Amy

Howdy from Maryland...someone told me recently that rocks belong outside, but not inside the house...I smiled and ignored them

Welcome from the Desert Southwest! I think that you will find that you are not alone, in that nearly all of us have a small mountain of rocks inside and outside the house! Since I didn't know that MN was so populated with great rocks, I really look forward to seeing some of the pictures you might post!

NevadaBill, OMG I love that photo! That's the kind of place I go to in the desert between Ludlow CA and AZ. Park, load up a daypack to be gone 4-6 hours, and take off. Then get frustrated because I have found 100lbs of rocks and have to make multiple trips to the vehicle if I can't drive the vehicle closer! Of course on much of BLM land, one can drive close to the rocks. Beautiful photo.
