How about some nice Mexican Crown of Silver psilomelane? The shape is abstract but so are the patterns.

Love the orbs in that one stephan ! I just "blind" grabbed a preform out of my bag of Flower of Peach Lace Agates. I must have close to 75 preforms cut out...with another 20 pounds of this material ordered. I love this stuff and can't wait to start cabbing some of it! Well, I guess it’s a safe guess that you like this material... and it’s easy to see why. Not a bad “blind” grab. It looks like it may not be too bad fracture-wise, either, which isn’t always the case with Mexican lace agates. Some of it has to do with the mining methods, I’ve heard.

What amazed me about the last batch I picked up was the diversity amongst the three pieces of rough. Three completely different pattern configurations. One was a mix of blacks and yellows, another more opaques amd whites, and the third one had some of the most intricate patterns. The last post I did with this stuff showed a lot of that third rock. I can't wait to see what the next 5-6 pieces of rough bring with them. I'm really hoping for the "intricate" pattern...it's by far my favorite.

That’s the neat thing about lace agates... even more so than other material, there is endless variety. I like this black and yellow, too. Like bumblebee jasper without the arsenic. As far as I know, the yellow here is from iron.

Here's a quick video showing some Moctezuma agates I cut in half and tumbled.
If you hit the gear icon at the bottom of the video the quality can be adjusted all the way to 4K

I love it! I like it when a piece can be worked (cab or tumble) that includes the healed fracture lines. I've got some Flower of Peach that has a nice healed fracture line running through some slabs.

Yep, me too. I especially like it when the two original pieces don’t line up precisely. Kind of like Continental Drift on a micro scale. I’d love to see your pictures

I just pulled this out of a box I'm putting together to send to California to take pictures!

Too often, it is easy to get so focused on the destination, that the joy of the journey can be missed.

stephan - the towel was fortuitous. It just happened to be the one hanging in the kitchen! roy - that second slab is one exceptional drool-worthy specimen right there! I hope it stays in your collection exactly like that!

Oops, it looks like I've been neglecting this thread for a bit, due to running out of material to post. Luckily I just received a few nice slabs and slablets of various Mexican crazy lace agates from jasoninsd . If my brain is working with me today (no guarantees), this is Laguna lace: DSC_3450_Laguna lace agate free-form cab by Stephan T., on Flickr I love the druzy pocket at about 4:00 o' clock. Also, one of the fortification bands (at about 11:00) seems to have filled with druzy quartz, rather than agate. You really never know what cool surprises you are going to get with crazy lace. Pretty much anything is possible. The picture isn't the best (it looked better on the camera screen). I'll try to update it tomorrow, but I want to post something on a Monday. And, holy moly, is this stuff hard. Gave the diamonds a run for their money.

I like this Laguna with lots of variety in colors and patterns. I especially like the little sagenite "puffball" that occurred near the surface of the nodule. (Whops - forgot to check the size of the image before posting, but you get the idea...)

You did the stone justice on this one Stephan! gemfeller - The Sagenite spot is absolutely killer on that cab of yours!

Over 1.5 hours (all the other cabs that day took 20-30 minutes). I still have little work to do on it, since I only took it up to the 3000 grit (probably more like 6000 on my wheels), so there's a little room to bring up the shine. I don't think I've ever heard my 80 grit wheel whimpering before, but I'm pretty sure it was, on Saturday. 2.5 blades. That's pretty impressive. I'll second the comment about gemfeller's sagenite... hell, the whole cab is pretty darn amazing.

stephan - Here's one I finished up the other day that's out of the same batch of rocks as the one you cabbed.
