A beautiful Wisconsin day. Almost 60 degrees. Tenant told be he had stacked some kindling for me, so decided to make the most of it. I drove to the far side of fields. Saw a new deer blind my hunting friends erected. Here is the kindling pile. A broke a lot of it up and put in car. Tenant and his group were tending to cattle. He walked over and let me know he had been adding rocks to a pile. I found a few keepers. The "road" on edge of field was filled with rocks. Found this interesting one, but it was too large to get out. Not lapidary quality, but will eventually be a nice landscape rock. While I was getting kindling and rocks, my critter man was doing a lot of work around my house. He found some new holes. One was over 10" across. He sealed holes around foundation. Added some pieces of metal. Put 6 bags of river rocks along foundation and deck. Left one hole open and placed traps around it. Here are the rocks I brought back. The larger ones are about 8" long. This is slate like with embedded quartz. A few large pieces of cool quartz. I love all the colors in them. Misc. Includes a large piece of red/gray chalcedony. This one has some interesting patterns on one side. Reminds me of rain drop impressions in mud. More misc. The top one has lines of quartz embedded in sugar quartz. Hope you enjoyed spending a couple of hours in Central Wisconsin on a beautiful Fall day. I know I did.

I was talking with my wife this morning and commenting that we have nothing to really complain about as the weather has not really been all that bad in Oct/Nov like it has been the last couple years. I'm glad you've had some beautiful days to still get out! That big rock pile would've kept me busy for a little while! I like that "raindrop impression" stone! We too are acquiring a bunch of "landscape" rocks here lately! LOL I've got my fingers crossed for your critter guy!

Jason, thanks.
Here, we had an early winter in October. Then it was cold. Now have a few warm days. I really wanted to get out and find some rocks.
The raindrop rock is really cool. It is large enough to be a good base for a rock tree.
