Good to know, but the main reason for wanting the flat disk is size. Some T-eggs are simply too big for the spacing of Genie wheels. Yeah, the large surface area is why a dome is really useful. Lets you work across the whole surface without rounding your edges or catching an edge and gouging the surface of the lap. Helps prevent flying rocks, too. Thank you for explaining!

I have so many silly questions now.... I saw there are cerium wheels for polishing; looks like a Nova wheel but just cerium instead of grit. Anyone have any experience?

A customer just purchased a replacement from Grainger (part number2MDV5) for a whopping $4.70.
I just did the same thing too. Graingers for around $5. I’m in heaven right now. I just had 2 old school Genie’s fall in my lap in one week! One for $650 with all wheels and the other with no wheels for free!!!! I feel so blessed! I thought I’d never be able to afford one! Let alone 2! In one week! Now the question is, I need to identify which grit wheels are on here so I know which grits I need to buy for the other one. Anyone know how to tell? Also, I want to buy the flat lap attachment. Is there anywhere that sells it as a bundle? Everything I’m seeing you have to buy each grit lap separate and the backing separate. I’m trying to do this in the most economical way possible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
