Circa 1910 postcard sent to my Grandma from her Grandma. They lived about 4 miles apart. My Grandma was 5 years old.

Thats a beautiful card fernwood ! It's in perfect condition too. It's like a window into a earlier time isn't it?

I'm not much of a collector these days (no "stuff" for the sake of stuff), and I don't have anything real fancy, but even if I did, I think that would be considered my most valuable possession. I'd keep it forever because; priceless!

It's awesome! It can become a family heirloom that you will pass down from generation to generation

I agree this is an amazing piece of history. What I like the most is the address on the postcard! Talk about a different time!

Then put it in my home safe in a preservation envelope. Yes, it is very special. Something I will never sell. My daughter wants it.

I agree this is an amazing piece of history. What I like the most is the address on the postcard! Talk about a different time! I love the 200+ postcards I have addressed to this location. I still have about 100, to place into archival sleeves and into my home safe. I have been including a note with each postcard on archival paper. Who sent it, related to family history. What relative received it. this has been a long process. Am also scanning each post card with the info.

My wife inherited a 3" binder full of late 19th/early 2oth century Christmas postcards, though not from family - her parents merely liked collecting them and left them to her and so still have sentimental value to her. They are very collectible and worth some money, but I don't think she'll ever sell them. The most sought-after ones are when Santa is wearing something other than the traditional red suit - green/blue/gold are uncommon. Also, cards where Santa is using alternate modes of transportation, like a hot air balloon to deliver presents are cool. Merry Christmas.

I have one with a Santa wearing green. Another leather postcard with a cotton stocking on it. Several other leather ones. The ones from a German manufacture, Tucks, are highly collectible. I have several of those. The above one is Tucks. I love all of the postcards. Some local ones depict local buildings near where I was raised. Have many from the resort that my Grandpa established. Some from when my Grandpa was stationed in the Western Front, WWI.
Every post card I have has a special meaning. Whether it be the front, or the words on the back.

fernwood that's a very nice heirloom and I'm sure you treasure it, as you should. I also wish all RTHlings a very merry Christmas and express my appreciation for the many friendships I have here.
