Hi fellow rock enthusiasts! I've been doing a bit of lurking, trying to pick up tips on using a new tumbler. Santa brought me a Mini Sonic MT 10, my first vibrating tumbler. I have two rotary tumblers that have been running almost constantly for about 5 years now. In spite of having a house and yard full of rocks, I have an insatiable need to collect more and polish anything I can fit in a tumbler barrel. I'm running out of jars and shelf space, and seriously thinking about gluing rocks to walls. Kindred spirits here, I have a feeling! I'm also hoping the Forum will help me to cut down on my Facebook time.

I like that, "Cave Dweller" It suits my somewhat anti-social nature. LOL I'll have to see what I have for pics of shiny rocks. I recently lost a couple thousand pictures from my phone, mini sd card went bad. Some were backed up in other places, but a lot are gone forever. Tons of rock pictures. Should I share what I have here or on a different thread?

Welcome. We will even try to find useful ways of using, displaying and sharing those pretties. Super! I have made a couple little things, but they somehow end up looking like a summer camp project.

I've got a couple threads I've created for me to post pictures specific to the areas I hound, which are a couple different spots, so I post "finds" from those areas in those specific threads. I'll also start a new thread for each group of cabochons I make. You can't really create too many threads...well, I suppose you can... LOL

I believe I will be adding a new shelf or two soon. No more floor space for display cases. Came across a couple examples of rocks glued to walls yesterday on Facebook, got the wheels to turning...

Don't give me ideas like gluing rocks to the walls. I am overwhelming my wife already. LOL Oh, dear... better not push her over the line! I saw a picture on Facebook yesterday of a backsplash done with small unpolished river rocks, it got me to thinking about doing the same but with polished pet wood from my area. 10pm last night I was covering my kitchen table with potential pieces for the wall.

Welcome from California. I think we all understand. You will fit right in! Lots of tumbling experts here. Not me. Hi Pat! I love talking rocks with people whose eyes don't glaze over! I will definitely be looking for tips and help from those who share what works for them. Don't know if I would narrow it down to "experts".

Hounding is one of my favorite things to do, and SD is on the top of my list of places to roam around in one of these days. Definitely need to look for the beautiful agates and fossils in you state.
