Hello everyone, Here’s a look at my THIRD ever polishing attempt on rocks. This time it's " Tiger Eye" from Kingsley North. 3 pounds raw for $22.50 I ran 46/70 grit on the raw material for 2-3 weeks on my MJR rotary tumbler's 6lb barrel. This is about the best I can do without buying some sort of grinder (or saw) to get rid of pockets and holes.... A used cab might happen in 2021... for the right price. Need to do some research. - Anyone know of a good deal?
Final steps: 4 days in Lot-O @ 220 w/ ceramic mix +Borax 3 days in Lot-O @ 500 w/ ceramic mix +Borax 3 days in Lot-O @ A.O. w/ ceramic mix +Borax 8 hours in Borax only, extra water Raw: Group shot:Final product:Thanks to everyone for the tips and instructions along the way. I know I need to keep these in stage 1 (46/70) longer... the photos show good shine, but lots of pits and cracks. I feel am getting better each time! ~Storm

storm - I think that's an awesome job for your third ever tumble! I love the looks of Tiger Eye tumbles, but I have no clue what I'd do with it...come to think of it, I don't have a clue what I'm going to do with ANY of my tumbles! LOL

Nice job and I agree with Jason, I have no idea what to do with my boxes of polished rocks. But I love them and I keep polishing more.

If you have an overflow of polished rocks a good money maker would be to take them to your local rock show if you have a club in your area and spread them on a table for sale as lucky stones or worry stones to be carried in your pocket. A fellow shows up at our rock show each year and sells HUNDREDS ! He goes around the country here in the mid west and makes a bundle. Quarter each or 5 for a dollar.
