First time texturing with a rolling mill. I like how it turned out and the bonus is...lot less work!

I am so jealous of anyone with a rolling mill.

I have never heard of a rolling mill. Now, I need more toys. Great job all around. Love the turquoise cab. The setting is outstanding.

Bill, that stone is stunning and the setting is fantastic!!! Thanks Jason, I found it rather tricky to cut due to the hardness difference between the turquoise and the pyrite. In the end I was happy enough with the finish to set it in silver.

Thanks. I wish I owned a rolling mill as well! I use the one at the local gem and mineral club.

Plus...it looks like an overhead view of a rocky seashore on a Blue Lagoon! (You know, the kind of view you see from a drone shot during Shark Week on Discovery!)

I like the entire piece.
How did you get two different textures on the front of the backplate—- smooth and rough?

I like the entire piece. How did you get two different textures on the front of the backplate—- smooth and rough? I passed the silver sheet through the rolling mill with a decorative lace cupcake wrapper. The cupcake wrapper left the textured finish and the holes in the cupcake wrapper permitted the silver to contact the roller and created a smooth surface.

Wonderful pendant!
How do you bend your tubing? I've thought of doing it a number of times, but never attempted it. I'm unsure about how short a piece I can bend and concerned about kinking.

Thanks, Bill! I actually have some of those. I never used them because I had understood that I also needed to fill the tubing with ice or some other material to prevent kinking. I didn't want to mess up a good length of tubing. I'll give it a try soon.

I have read that you can fill the tube with sand , cap the ends and bend the tube without kinking. I found it easier to use the coils. When using the coils the integrity of the tube's shape is supported from the exterior therefore no support is required internally. It has worked flawlessly for me. Annealing is required however, a 5mm tube can be surprisingly stubborn!
