Has anyone replaced the motor on a UV-18? I can hear the bearings starting to go on mine. Could not find any on-line at any of the Lapidary suppliers. Will be making a few calls later today to see if they can help. I took the Fasco number off mine but had no luck searching for it. I did find 4 available in Australia.
Trying to frame size and bolt spacing a painful exercise when that data is usually not provided for small motors that I can see. My guess is I will just get as close as I can and then have to do some drilling on the 1/8" connecting plates.
Thanks Henry

not sure if you found a new motor yet but this place has a ton of motors: electricmotorwarehouse.com/fasco-motors/ I believe there is a motor shortage right now as I see a lot of tumblers are out of stock due to no motors available. Also some Fasco motors can be rebuilt so might be worth a go.

@hankrocks did you find a replacement? About 3 weeks ago I called Tru-Square, the manufacturer, and they said the motor was on back order and left my number. They have not called back. I will try and call them back soon to check status. The machine is actually running in the garage with the bearing noise. So far so good but I do check it frequently as it will not last before failure. It doesn't run at night or while I am away from the house.

Unfortunately I think it is going to be a long wait. We use Fasco motors in our ovens at work, and we have 2 on the fritz. Fasco is telling us 6 to 8 weeks MINIMUM. We have Government contract that is coming due and not enough oven space in our remaining working ovens. We have our second shift cooking out parts just to try to keep up. Hopefully the small motor division is not as backed up as the large motor division (our oven exhaust motors are 4 and 5 hp!)

My UV-10 Industrial, which I bought new in July '21, came with a C-Frame motor. I too called Tru-Square and they told me they can't get the original red blower type motors they used previously for that frame. The Rock Shed said the same thing. Just yesterday the motor on my AR-1 started growling so it is probably going out. This has the P-Tech motor on it. Wishing you good luck, Henry, on finding something that works.

I'm also looking for a motor for an UV-18. No reply from their web site.
