Those look like they are going to be amazing tumbles! I can’t wait to see how they polish up and I will be sure to share some pictures, too. Yes, please take lots of pictures. Before and after tumbling. I'm sure they would be much nicer than my crappy cell phone pictures.

I will certainly try my best to do those rocks justice!

That last one is fantastic!
After seeing some of these rocks close up, I am amazed by the variety in them. The first few we tumbled should be out of the Lot-O today. We were a excited to see how they polished up and ran a batch of some of the most rounded ones using only the vibe.

Hey mohs , Since you asked about the driftwood pictures in the other thread, I thought I would post a video I shot several years ago of some wave and log action during a storm. The picture is of a carnelian that I found a few hours later after it was safe to go down on the beach.

that serious dule is that debris from a tsunami mohs, Oregon had severe storms with heavy rainfall and flooding in early December 2015. In Seattle, the first nine days of the month were the wettest on record. The Mayor declared a state of emergency in 13 counties, two people lost their lives. Days of hazardous weather with landslides shut down major freeways, high winds knocked out power to thousands, heavy rainfall caused wide-spread flooding of roadways, homes and property. Not a tsunami, but plenty of damage left behind.

Thank you for the explanation rockpickerforever After the Japanese Quake and Tsunami in March 2011 We got a lot of debris and logs that were encrusted with huge Gooseneck Barnacles. I went down to the beach that day where I knew I would be safe. The tsunami waves were like a typical storm surge at high tide.

Pictures please I am loving the beach pebbles! They are beautiful enough nature-tumbled, but my goodness they polish up well! I just finished a small batch of them and have some of the larger ones tumbling now. They should be done in a couple weeks. That batch has some of my favorites in it, so I am looking forward to the results. The color variations are incredible in the carnelians, but I find myself drawn to the Newport Blues. Those have such interesting colors and patterns. I took it slow with them because I wasn't sure how they would tumble. I'm glad I did because I found that many oft them have a translucent core and too much tumbling will lose the blues. Here are some group shots and some closer shots of some favorites. When I get a chance, I will try to get some better photos. These last two shots are of the same stone with the only difference being the backlighting in the second shot. These rocks have a lot of secrets to share.

Brian - Wow Brian! You got an amazingly beautiful shine on those! I don't think I like any of the colors/variations more than any of the others...they're all gorgeous!

It looks like a monumental sized carnelian standing tall (think 2001 A Space Odyssey!) with a massive waterfall in the background. It looks amazing!

Well, that it does! LOL I keep looking at it. It reminds me of the old campy "sci-fi" movies when special effects were just coming into being. I keep thinking of a scene from the old "Land of the Lost" episodes!
