Made this ring for a gal and as I was finishing it I noticed that the sterling stamp is on the outside. I guess if she wants it she can have it for free. Yes to grind it off a little so it wasn't there. But once you see it you can't unsee it.

I don't see it. It's a really nice ring, though.

I think it just adds a little to the character on that one. I'm assuming that you repurposed some silver for that ring, and if so, that sterling mark just shows that it is an up-cycled piece. I'm sure some would pay a premium to know that a ring that beautiful is made from recycled materials.

Can you buff it out? I know that will ruin the pattern a bit

Does it really show?

Oh geez, Billy! That is totally something I would do.
The ring is beautiful. I had to really look for it to see it because the band is so heavily patterned. That's a close up shot so I doubt I would see it in hand without you pointing it out.

Made this ring for a gal and as I was finishing it I noticed that the sterling stamp is on the outside. By chance is her name Sterling? If not is she open to a name change?

...or you could change your name to "Sterling" and put a "Made by" stamp above it! I think it looks great and I don't think anyone would really notice as it would always be located palm-side anyway.
