1st rockhounding field trip of the year for me. Had a blast on the Niagara Escarpment finding calcite crystals in vugs.

What a great place! Those clean up real nice too. Thanks for posting this; limestone quarry collecting is something I’ve never done but it looks like a blast!

If you can believe it, the other fellows were disappointed. They "did better" last time they were there. One of the walls will be blasted shortly and I have an invite to try again after that occurs. Looking up at the wall about 30', there are some huge vugs, which probably means huge crystals.

I finally watched this! What a fun little treasure hunt!
Searching for Teepee Canyon Agates is very similar to what you've shown in the video...only on a smaller scale.

Dang! Even I could find some crystals there. Nice haul. I fell in love with a few of those. Maybe the last was my fav because it was so white after you knocked off that mud.

Reminds me of the Calcite we used to collect at one of the old mercury mines just west of Terlingua Texas. I have always been amazed at the different crystal structures that Calcite can take.
