You got a the photo uploaded to Cloudinary (Yay!), but it didn't embed. It should be automatic, but if it doesn't work, there's always the fallback: Select the photo's URL, then got to the menu above your post. Bottom row, right side, second icon from the left (looks like a small picture). Insert the URL in the upper box of the drop-down menu.

Lots of people have trouble with that, so you did good! You're welcome for the help, we all had to learn it at one time! I try to step in and give pointers where I can. I should mention, there is another way to do it. Sandwich the URL between these: [IMG] That is the code that using the insert photo gives. Which one I use depends upon if I am using my phone, or on the desktop PC. For me, when I am using my phone, insert photo is easier. BTW, welcome to the forum, Darcy! Jean

Yes on PiX The strange marks are called something fractures. Basically when the stone is crushed and smacked hard it produces those little fractures. Some stones never seem to have them and other stones are full of them. Those don't look too bad and another run or 2 in course grit should take care of them. I never use any kind of cushion for course grit but if I had to choose one I would go with the ceramic media as I think it carries the grit better

This material is terrible to learn on as tumbling it is very tricky. If there is any way you can save it for later and spend a year on agates and jaspers, I think it would be very useful to you.

You’re doing fine, continue tumbling in coarse until they’re smooth and rounded. One week does almost nothing to any reasonably hard rock.

Bruising on the rocks has nothing to do with the ceramic. Slurry consistency too thin, mix or harder rock in with softer, large stones impacting them, etc etc. I would start with the slurry consistency and thicken it up either by adjusting water level (less) or adding a thickening agent in (sugar for example) and see what happens. There is a sticky at top of page with recipies.

I find aventurine sometimes gets weird white spots that look like suds, no matter what you do; sort of like how amethyst chips, aventurine "scuffs". Keep going on coarse, and after another week if they don't look good, try adding some ceramic media and run another 2-5 days, and then move on, it's not you. Sometimes Mother Nature's quality department leaves early
