The 4 in the 2nd pic match the on-line descriptions. Range of mixed red, blue and orange colors with lighter bands. Out of 5 lbs I have 3 stones like the orange ones and the rest (15-20) fit the classic description. The three in the first pic are 2 inches x 3 inches orange with no banding and when I hold them up to the light they are translucent. Is this normal variation in these stones? I am asking because I have found out recently there had been other stones mixed in my orders from the rock shed. I have not done much to them they had such large pits in them I stopped tumbling part way through. I have updated the pictures 4/6/21 The stones in question.
Classic agates - the one with the base I did by hand because I liked the banding.

Mozambique and Malawi agates are pretty, but man the fracturing is often rampant.

The unknowns would probably be classified as sard, a term which kind of encompasses all the plain chalcedony types ranging from yellowish to brownish. Found in almost every agate bed and often without visible banding.
