Looks like the res scaled down quite a bit. Anyhow, just making a place to share some from the last year.

Great shots! You must spend some time out there on/near the water.

I think the pictures look great! No resolution problems.
Love the flamingo. I really like flamingos. The second B&W is very evocative with the rain.

Great bird photos! I'm a chronic bird watcher.
Is that a pileated woodpecker?

I believe that is indeed a Pileated. We have one that hangs around (we are very fortunate) and is almost to the point where you can be outside and he doesn't fly away immediately (thats about as tame as they get lol). Wonderful birds!

Oh, yes, I missed the question above. It is a pileated - that one was near Cumberland Falls in February. The others are from parks around Indianapolis and the local zoo for the flamingo.

Love woodpeckers. We don't have any where I live now, just some sapsuckers and flickers, but when we lived up on the mountain we had tons of Acorn Woodpeckers. They were hysterical. We had one who would sit on the deck railing waiting for us to get home so he could have peanuts (raw). As soon as he'd see us coming, he'd start talking to us.
The one and only time I ever saw a Lewis Woodpecker was there up on the mountain (actually 2 of them). Couldn't figure out what that pink bird was. They hung around for about a week and then they were gone. Never have seen another.
