I just purchased a Hornady Rotary Case Tumbler to use as a rock tumbler. It holds a total weight of up to 17 lbs. in the tumbler. It was a returned item. It appears that the On/Off/Timer Switch is bad. It turns on and flashes OFF, I can’t get it to show anything else. My questions are:
(1) Where can I purchase a new switch? (2) Could I just replace the switch with a simple toggle switch because I don’t need a timer.
Any advice is appreciated. Thank you. Rockhound Rhonda

Il go ahead and say im.not sure about timer but just that casing tumblers aren't built to withstand the heavy load and abuse of rock tumbling. The barrel for tumbling rocks needs to be 2/3 to 3/4 full and if urs is 17lb capacity of shell casings then I'd imagine the barrel 2/3 full of rocks will be much muvh heavier. Not sure what tumbler specs are but want to make sure motor is continuous duty as rock tumblers generally run nonstop for days until ready for next stage of grit. Know it doesn't answer your question so apologies for that. Just food for thought. I'm sure some have managed some rock tumbling in casing tumblers but most find out quickly its cheaper in long run to buy one built for rocks or build a homemade one. Good luck!

Any switch that is rated for 110v will work or you can wire it direct and just unplug it.

As stated you can wire direct or any 110v rated toggle. Check your motor over carefully. You want to see the words continues duty (or cycle) Also look for the words Termal protected (this shuts the motor off before it melts down on the off chance it overheats). My Tumlers AR-12 uses a Fasco 1/15 HP motor. It turns at 35 RPM. Just some info to hopefully give you an idea of what your looking for.
