It's hot enough here that my brother calls every day to jokingly ask how my A/C is holding up. (So far, so good.)

Report from the Prescott, AZ area: a couple of days ago we had a whiz-bang violent hailstorm with winds up to a reported 80 mph. It damaged cars, airplanes on the ground, ripped metal roofs off, broke skylights and did major damage to a new house under construction along with other things. It was exciting where we are but we had no similar damage.
We're thinking of digging our winter coats out now because this week's forecast is calling for several days under 90 degrees -- something that hasn't happened for weeks. Of course our forecasts are notoriously unreliable because storm cells are so changeable. But we're looking forward to any small relief from the constant heat.

Not heat, but major storms. I can handle the heat for the most part. As of now, humidity here is at 92%.
Received my NWS Storm Spotter activation for today already. Some local TV stations are saying this could be a major storm event. Straight line winds and tornados. I plan on leaving early for work and hanging out there before my shift. If things are bad when I close, there are some couches I could always try to get some sleep on, lol.
If there is a tornado warning or hook echo on RADAR, straight line wind warning, I am not going to work until it passes. I am the only one scheduled to work second shift today, but owners will be there. Am sure some will be oblivious to severe weather and come to the tap house.
NWS forecast: Today Showers and thunderstorms likely, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 5pm. Some storms could be severe, with heavy rain. High near 83. South wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Tonight Showers and thunderstorms. Some storms could be severe, with heavy rain. Low around 64. South southeast wind 6 to 8 mph becoming west southwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

Elizabeth rises earlier than I do most days, right before dawn to get her gardening done. According to her there was abundant lightning, thunder and some rain at dawn.

We had rain overnight up here in the high country, too. A nice, soaking rain. I saw some lightening sometime between 3 and 3:30 this morning, but no thunder.

Another wave due this weekend. Despite the extraordinary heat, this will be one of the coolest summers for the rest of our lives, if not the coolest.

And plenty of rain, probably another inch or so. The lightning was so bright and constant it woke me up at 3:45 a.m. and it went on and on, with plenty of thunder. This followed another big rain/hail/electrical storm Monday afternoon we thought might blow the house away. It dropped at least an inch or more of rain. It was nice to have the rain and to know the Monsoon season isn't a complete "Non-Soon" this year.

Definitely cycling away from that 6k year ice age it seems. Maybe palm trees in the arctic will be a thing again in 10 or 20 generations.
