Why does a business Require a 25 dollar minimum ? This is a long rant to a simple question I have this light fixture which requires either an E-12 or E-17 base Yes its an odd ball I’ve done too much internet searching and know more about light bases Than i need to knohs Anyway hard to find So I take the light bulb to this huge showroom Light store that just down the road Thankfully Well first I called and the guys wanted to take my phone number and call me back. b.s. He’s that busy? Ha So I drive over. Luckily I served quickly at the big nice counter. The place is lit nice. clean fancy. So I ask the clerk if he as this type of bulb. =I brought the bulb w/ me and just exactly what type of base it is? Well that of course turned into one of those technical discussions. Does it have green stripe or blue stripe? Cause if it one those- it Could be this- - or if it the condition is on these - If it could be that. Of course it may not be neither if the stripe is green Any way clerks say he as the bulbs stock How much? O couple bucks Great. I’ll take one ! There a a 26.00 minimum And I said ya can’t help out an old guy from the hood And sale me one ? No. Its business. You have to buy them by the gross. Well your business plan is gross ! There were other clients in there . Didn’t want to turn into a scene they were smiling. Anyway he would not sale me just one bulb! No way jose. And yes I understand private sellers As an example That want to sale all the equipment together This is bit different Minimum sale order? Why why why

With all of the time spent helping you, you would think they would have wanted to make a little profit on your visit. Besides, it was clear you were only interested in a light bulb, so why wait until the end to tell you about the minimum purchase?
Up until today, my sister ran her own store and I could understand having a minimum purchase for credit card purchases because it eats away most of the small profits, but not a blanket policy.

I've run across a few outfits like that, make it a point to send them a nastygram, and hit 'em on their facebook page too.

right on Guyys! I've had the situation where a company doesn't want to do business unless you have some sort of business license as far as brick and mortar goes never have I encounter a buy in fee anyway I just did has tela suggested and spent my money else where got a 15 watts bulb for 1.99 @ Frys the base is an intermediate a candelabra cactii guess intermediate means between E-12 and E-17 think the E stands for Edison must be the screw type and the number is the diameter in meters ,..mostly anyway don't take my word for it do your own research and have a nice day edmohs

Mohs, I would have asked one of the other customers to buy the bulb and reimburse in cash. If they said "no" I don't know how I would have reacted.

Yo Victor Its one of those situations! Where the light Ott to have a gone off in the clerks and threw the ol'mohs a bulb That would have been a good business practice in my estimation? I’m still trying to figure it out. Supposing its an inventory thing? This is well-established big corporation The warehouse/open showroom Is in a run down part of town So it’s not like every Joe’sMoze who needs a light Is going to go out of their way to get a 2-dollar bulb. But this was special bulb. I mean…its an intermediate E-12 or E17 Candelabra !!! Not sure where I got cactii from? So a good business practice Would have been Explain the policy & hand over the bulb As one off deal Us rock guys do that kind of stuff

You have entered a business that just wants to sell to other businesses. they do not want to mess with retail sales of one or two items. It is a lot of additional paper work. If they do 99.9% to other businesses they have 100 accounts and all they care about is collecting the big bucks since a business is going to be educated about what they want and they do not have to play 20 questions with the customer and if they do have to educate you they expect you to purchase $1000. I get it.

And although I understand that from a business sense I believe from my above statement, it would have been good business acumen, w/ little a bit of discernment; to forget & allow Not that the customer is always right
