About 10 years ago I bought some of this unusual material from someone on this site thinking I'd try to tumble it someday. For those that don't know, it is only found in a very small area of the the state of RI. Fairly complex chemical make-up and not really suited for tumbling. Never did get to tumbling it and decided to use it in a newly set up aquarium instead - it has a very similar chemical composition to the gravel I selected to help the plants grow. Long story short - the entire 25# has taken up permanent residence in my freshwater aquarium. Much of it is covered by plants and mosses. The first pic shows several bladder snails on top of the rock(they hitchhiked in on some plants), with an assassin snail on the bottom center - he'll get around to eating the bladder snails eventually. There are also a few amano shrimp to the left of the assassin. The next pic has a couple varieties of small bucephalandra growing on top of some cumberlandite. The one on the right flowers periodically (underwater!), so I must be doing something right. Another shrimp in the foreground along with a couple cardinal tetras on the far left. A nice moss (spiky shapes) and some type of 'wort' (rounded) are visible on the left as well. Better use for them than sitting in my garage collecting dust. Think they look natural with the gravel as well.

Beautiful looking tank! What other fish do you have in there besides the tetras?

Nice! I have always found fish tanks to be very relaxing (except for the cleaning part).

Great fish tank and use for a rock.
I had Amethyst and pet wood in my last fish tank.
