My wife and I headed up and stayed in a nice Air B & B between Eagle Harbor and Copper Harbor last week. I was competing in a bike race on Saturday, so we decided to head up early and maybe see if we could find a few Lake Superior Agates in our free time before the race started at 5:00 AM Saturday morning. Personally, I think we ended up doing pretty well. Here are a few photos of what I am sure are Agates. I also have quite a few more rocks to look through to see what else I potentially have...plus a lot of rocks that I know are not agates, but that I want to polish anyway, just to see how they turn out. Do most of you tumble agates or just leave them as is?

Those are nice! I've got some tumbling now but they have a ways to go...they seem to take quite a while. And that sounds like a heck of a race!

Nice agates. That bike race sounds intense.

I would definitely tumble them or cut them into cabs and put in rings or jewelry. If you don't have access to cabbing equipment, I would for sure tumble them. Maybe keep one of your favorites in it's natural form.

The Crusher......that's some serious endurance riding.......you've obviously trained at altitude for those occasions......Let's see, 262mi in 30.5hrs, with a 16,000' (+3mi) change in elevation........average speed of approx. 8.6mph.........and no sleep I assume.....and no break-downs..........given you're permitted 36hrs to complete.......very well done, most impressed....... I'm inclined to believe you (two) are not your average everyday amateurs.........having been a CAT 2 road racer back in the day......today I can barely manage 5mi climbs on pavement, of 2,000' elevation change at an average of 12mph (on my hybrid trail cross-trainer), (11%) being the steepest grade.............then again, I'm 67yrs old and completely out of any serious conditioning, and I need my rest and sleep......lol
Nice nugget finds tooooo....!

I think they'd be gorgeous candidates for the tumbler!
