After 26 years, I finally wore out my Lortone 3A. It’s been difficult to find a replacement. Here is what I ended up with.

My 12 lb Lortone does all the heavy grinding and shaping. This one will be doing the finish work. I’m pretty excited to start using it. I have quite a few rocks that are done with coarse grind. Without the 3A, they’ve been building up pretty fast.
I wore out the first 3A tumbling garnet. The second one did awesome. Now I have the 33B and four barrels. I may still try to rebuild the 3A. I took the motor apart and cleaned it once. That bought me 6 weeks. Now it’s making some pretty bizarre noises and it keeps stopping.

Way to go Brent!!! You're going to have a ton of fun with the two barrels! It's really going to give you a bunch of different options with regards to tumbling different materials and different stages.

Where did you get it from? Kingsleynorth is out of stock and so is the rock shed. Even lortone themselves are sold out. Was it at a local store?

felrock It came from Kingsley North. I subscribed to be notified when they were in stock again. As soon as I got the message, I ordered it.
